Story behind the cigar
The line known as Signature today had its beginnings already in 1968. The launch of the line’s predecessor Classic revealed formats with heads finished with a pigtail – a change which caused quite a stir in the industry and which differentiated Davidoff from others. The Signature 2000 is Davidoff’s bestselling cigar worldwide. Every 30 seconds, an aficionado somewhere in the world enjoys the iconic corona.
To accompany the complex and multi-faceted «The Original Series» with creamy notes and flavours of fresh spice and black coffee, the selected beverage should offer the same flavours and complexity. One suggestion is a mild, elegant and malty whisky, ideally from the Highlands or from Speyside, delighting with a complimenting aroma profile. The cigars also pair very well with an Earl Grey tea.
As one of the filler tobaccos was aged in finest single malt Scotch whisky casks, the beverage needs to be rich and complex in taste to harmonise with the elaborate character of «The Late Hour Series». Ideally a heavy and spicy rum that is not too sweet, or a whisky that is nor too peaty nor too smoky, but rich and complex in aroma and taste.

The Story or History, in our case that of the family Perez-Carrillo and specifically the women that have been the inspiration to the Master himself. Each of us have that story of the person in the family that has been your inspiration. For Ernesto it is his mother and daughter depicted on the band, one in the tobacco field of Cuba and the other in Ernesto’s home of Miami, FL.
