Inspired by Zino Davidoff’s wine-cigar analogy in 1946, Davidoff Grand Cru is a sophisticated blend using the finest tobacco leaves from carefully selected terroirs; a selection process similar to that of wine-making.
The line offers a range of various formats in small to large ring gauges. The mild Dominican tobaccos provide an ideal taste experience for novices and those looking for a cultivated blend.
To accompany the complex and multi-faceted «The Original Series» with creamy notes and flavours of fresh spice and black coffee, the selected beverage should offer the same flavours and complexity. One suggestion is a mild, elegant and malty whisky, ideally from the Highlands or from Speyside, delighting with a complimenting aroma profile. The cigars also pair very well with an Earl Grey tea.
As one of the filler tobaccos was aged in finest single malt Scotch whisky casks, the beverage needs to be rich and complex in taste to harmonise with the elaborate character of «The Late Hour Series». Ideally a heavy and spicy rum that is not too sweet, or a whisky that is nor too peaty nor too smoky, but rich and complex in aroma and taste.
A ring gauge is 1/64th of an inch as a measurement. INCH was the idea of the master to honor the gauge.
