Cohiba is the most prestigious brand in the tobacco world and in 2016 it celebrated its 50th anniversary. It was created in 1966 and for many years it was intended solely as a gift to government personalities, national and foreign, and of course to President Fidel Castro. Since then, it has been manufactured in the prestigious El Laguito factory in Havana.

The year 1936 marked the start of our journey, and this cigar is a testament to the passion we feel and the exceptional methods that we have sustained throughout our history. La Galera 1936 Box Pressed is a cigar Jochy Blanco envisioned many years ago. After identifying and securing the desired grades and types of tobacco, he has given them the time they’ve demanded to reveal their full potential.

The winds play a very important role when growing tobacco.  The winds tell us when the best time to grow and where the best places to grow tobacco.  When we looked through history, we found the Greeks understood the importance of wind as well. The Greeks had wind gods, and they were called Anemoi.  Each direction had its own god.  Boreas (North), Notos (South), Eurus (East) and Zephyrus (West).   Each wind direction will help create a great crop or a bad one.  Because of this we thought it was fitting to finally pay our respects.
